After years of running a successful cake business out of small, cramped home kitchens, the owners of Cake Bloom made the jump to a “brick and mortar” shop that not only provides a larger commercial kitchen with more prep and storage space, but a small tasting bar to draw upon their years of experience in the Sonoma, CA wine industry to combine their cake offerings with curated sparkling wines from California, Virginia and around the world. Added to that are various dining spaces and a retail display area for the bubbles, “to-go’ items and everything to do with cakes and celebrations. A simple pallet of birch plywood panels, bare or laminated with felt and cork, softens the space and speaks to the sweet, sugary and sophisticated cakes, the iconic champagne corks popping, and the remarkable floral toppings that distinguish their modern treats all on a modest budget that befits a hustling ‘start up’.
