A turn of the century two over two with limited opportunities to expand, requires some breathing room with the arrival of two families moving in together. After several previous renovations, this project aims to create more open space by eliminating walls and combining the first floor public spaces while converting an existing screen porch into a first floor bedroom. The creation of the living/dining/kitchen space allows these functions to overlap with communal meal preparation and socializing taking center stage. Increased connection to the backyard and grill extends this idea into the backyard. On the second floor, a renovated bathroom and bedrooms include a roof deck accessed by the primary bedroom.
